Boasting a new name and new renovations for the 2016 football season, Hard Rock Stadium offers a whole new experience for sports fans in South Florida.

Located about 17 miles south of Fort Lauderdale in Miami Gardens, this sports complex is home to the Miami Dolphins NFL team as well as the University of Miami Hurricanes football team. Not only will it host the Orange Bowl College Playoff National Championship in early 2017, it is also scheduled to be the setting for three to five Super Bowls in the next decade, starting in 2020.

So what’s new at Hard Rock Stadium? Besides the new name – a branding deal worth a reported $250 million over the next two decades – the stadium features $350 million worth of renovations to improve the fan experience. Everything is bigger, better, and more user-friendly. Check out some of the improvements, and make plans to attend a football game at this new Fort Lauderdale area stadium today.

Four 357’ spires have been added to the stadium, one on each corner. Illuminated at night, these towering spires augment the presence of the stadium – making it more impressive than ever before.

MASSIVE VIDEO BOARDS

Hard Rock Stadium’s new video boards feature the largest total square footage in the AFC East – almost twice as much as before. Looming large in every corner, this 1,472-inch (50 feet by 12 feet) HD screens seem to be seen from every seat in the stadium.

STATE-OF-THE-ART SHADE CANOPY

Protecting the fans against sunshine and storms, this new retractable canopy can cover over 90% of the seats in the stadium – a much nicer experience particularly in the hot games of the early season.

MUDLESS NATURAL GRASS

The retractable shade canopy allows for sunlight to reach the field, which features a new type of special grass that won’t turn brown and muddy during the game.

UBER TAILGATE ZONE

Located in the east parking lots, this unique party zone allows fans to Uber to a Dolphins tailgate party. For a small price, you’ll get a complete tailgating set up with cooler, chairs, grill, and tent. Buy provisions nearby at the Uber Zone General Store.

NEW SEATING

More than 10,000 seats have been added at Hard Rock Stadium, and the closest sidelines seats are only 56 feet away from the field. Upgraded seating options abound. Reserve a box in the end zone at Atos Field Club, or opt for a nightclub-like party experience at LIV.
